Going Out – Accessible Places and Events

Accessible Places and Spaces

Planning a day out can take a long time when you care for someone with a rare condition. You may need to check for mobility access at entrances, toilets, parking, and space for equipment, charging points for electricity, quiet spaces etc.

We hope this helps you enjoy time out with less stress — whether it’s a quick café trip or a full day with your family. It lists parks, visitor centres, museums, cafés, and other places in Northern Ireland with some accessibility notes. You’ll also find links to access guides, reviews, and tips to help plan your visit. If you find a resource / location that was particularly good for you – please do share on our rare stories portal?
